Arthur along with norma Lewis, a suburban couple with a child, receive a simple box for a gift, which communicates consequences that are fatal and irrevocable. A mysterious stranger gives the message which the box promises to bestow upon its owner's $1 million with the press of a button. However pressing on this button will cause the death of the person being somewhere in the world. Somebody they don't really understand. With just 24 hours to get the box within their possession, Norma and Arthur end up in the crosshairs of a startling ethical problem and must face the genuine character of their humankind.
