Four children imagine escaping the tedium of a summer holiday with their mother. They are overjoyed when granted permission within a island in the middle of a huge lake. Nevertheless, once they get there they find they may not be lonely... The struggle for ownership of a lonely island teaches them that the skills of survival, the significance of friendship and the value of holding your own nerve.
