It's a very long hot summer for Charlie Boyd. He is sixteen, his hormones are raging and he found out his mother is having an affair with his father's companion. One thing that takes his mind off his issues, the cryptic woman down the street who has visitors day and night, and it has advertised for a gardener. But she is forgotten when a family event tumbles Charlie into a world of pain, a pain so Charlie thinks nobody can assist him. He is wrong. Some one can. The beautiful French stranger, maggie. She's a specialist, and she moans in pain. Giving it, exploring it, sharing it, all for your own money. So despite herself does she, drawn for the troubled boy that takes of the pain she is able to give, and Charlie falls in love and uses it to heal himself. And as Charlie heals, that healing is turned by him straight back onto her.
