Overview:
Grand Star, or La Compagnie des Glaces in French, is a science fiction TV show that has been on Space and A-Channel since September 2007. It is a joint project between Canada, France, and Belgium. It takes place 100 years after a nuclear blast on the moon caused the Earth to freeze over. The show is about the people who live on Earth and the descendants of colonists who fled Earth in advance of the disaster. La Compagnie des glaces, by Georges-Jean Arnaud, is the source of the TV series. In 2007, a game based on the TV show's universe was released. It was played by two or more people. Each player fights against the other players in the game. They use their trains to get money so they can control the energy sources. Also, a video game called Transarctica was made in France and translated into English in a bad way. First, Jean-Marc Lofficier and Randy Lofficier translated the first book in the series into English in 2010. It was called The Ice Company and had the ISBN number 978-1-935558-31-6, which means that it was written in 2010.
