A hapless talent manager named helping a client, Danny Rose dragged into a love triangle between the mob. His story is told in flashback, an anecdote shared amongst a group of comedians on lunch at New York's Carnegie Deli. Rose's one-piece gift agency represents countless incompetent entertainers, including a one-legged tap dancer, and also one marginally talented one: washed-up sofa singer Lou Canova (Nick Apollo Forte), whose livelihood is on the rebound.
